Coimbatore, August 19, 2010: After two compelling rounds in Hyderabad and Kolhapur, the JK Tyres Rotax Max National Karting Championship is on tenterhooks for an exciting and decisive weekend at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The round 3 & 4 of the championship will be held on consecutive days, with qualifying and heats in the pre-lunch session and pre-final and finals in the post lunch session between August 20 and 22, 2010. After 2 rounds the top 3 in each category are as following: In the Micro Max Category Jehan Daruvala of Rayo Racing from Mumbai is leading the championship with 175points closely followed by Bangalore’s Abhirath Shetty of Team Red Rooster Racing with 167 points and Krishna Mahadik a privateer with 165 points. Hyderabad, July 11 2010: There were mixed emotions across the MMS track with the top three teams emerging victorious across categories in the first round of National Rotax Max Karting Championship in Hyderabad. Red Rooster Racing’s Arjun Maini emerged victorious in the Junior category holding back Raj Bharath from Meco Racing. Abhirath Shetty from Red Rooster Racing did his best to pass Jehan Baruwala of Rayo Racing but had to settle with second in the Micromax category. Among the seniors, the race was dominated by Nikhil Kashyap of Amaron Pro Racing and Vishnu Prasad of Meco Racing who took first and second respectively. This year, over 50 drivers participated across three categories of which 19 were in the senior class, 18 in junior and 13 in micromax category. N. It was a hard fought battle between the top 2 teams of Indian Rallying, Team MRF and Red Rooster Racing, at the first round of the Indian National Rally Championship held at Nashik. Timings changed stage after stage, with every driver finding comfort levels in different stages. Run on a tarmac surface that commanded fast pace, it was the calculated and sound driving of Gaurav Gill that gave him the edge and dominance right from the start. Last year's Nashik Rally winner Vikram Mathias (PVS Murthy) of Red Rooster Racing could not repeat the performance as Gaurav Gill of team MRF drove a brilliant rally to finish on top. Gill covered the total distance of 112.23 kms and 10 stages in 1hr 22mins 42.5, closely followed by Mathias who overcame gear box problems to finish second to win some valuable championship points.
